Ping is now available for Android.
With Ping!Up a host on the IP network can be checked for accessibility.
Ping!Up can be used with an graphical interface.
Thus, the parameters of the ping command can be configured easily.
All results of the pings are returned as lines of text as usual.
Ping!Up uses the native ping of the Android operating system.
It sends the ICMP echo request packet, also called "ping", to the specified host.
If the host responds, it sends an ICMP echo reply, called "pong", back.
Otherwise, you get the answer that the ethernet network or the host is unreachable.
You can specify the host by name or by IP adress.
Ping!Up automatically translates the name using the ping command to the IP address.
With Ping!Up you get all relevant results of the ping test, such as

The precondition for a successful ping is the correct configuration of the host.
The host must accept ICMP packets and send a valid response to the ping.
